ADAPTIFY 👷

We partnered with the Adaptify team to design and develop a full-stack web application that is reshaping how schools and families support children with diverse cognitive, emotional, sensory, and behavioral needs. The platform eliminates the traditional dependency on formal diagnoses—which can take 6–24 months and result in lifelong labels—by delivering immediate, actionable, and strengths-based support through AI-powered technology.

The Challenge

One in five children experience learning, sensory, or emotional challenges that impact their daily lives. Yet access to support is often gated behind lengthy diagnostic processes, overwhelming paperwork, and fragmented communication between teachers, parents, and specialists. Schools lack scalable tools for personalised intervention, and families are left navigating waitlists with little guidance. Adaptify was conceived to bridge this gap—providing professional-grade support without stigma or delay.

What We Built

We delivered a comprehensive, production-ready platform spanning over 30 interconnected screens, each designed for clarity, accessibility, and real-world usability.

Non-Diagnostic Screening Engine — We built a multi-domain screening tool covering seven functional areas: attention, emotional regulation, sensory preferences, communication, learning and processing, organisation, and wellbeing. The screening uses neutral, descriptive language—identifying traits like "benefits from visual learning" rather than applying clinical labels. Results generate a detailed child profile that informs every downstream feature.

AI-Generated Individualised Action Plans (IAPs) — At the core of the platform is an intelligent IAP generator that maps screening results to concrete, evidence-informed strategies. Each plan is tailored to the child's unique profile and provides parallel recommendations for school and home environments. Teachers receive classroom-ready strategies while families get practical routines they can implement immediately.

Real-Time Collaboration Hub — We developed a secure messaging system with real-time updates, enabling teachers, parents, and therapists to stay aligned on a child's progress. The communication layer includes conversation management, archiving, read receipts, and label-based organisation—ensuring that critical updates never get lost.

Dashboard & Analytics — The staff dashboard surfaces key metrics at a glance: children on track versus those needing attention, active IAPs, goal progress, and pattern insights powered by data trends. We implemented role-based views so administrators, therapists, teachers, and parents each see exactly what's relevant to them. A dedicated parent dashboard provides families with a simplified, supportive experience.

Goal Tracking & Strategy Management — Educators can create, monitor, and review goals within structured academic terms. The system tracks strategy effectiveness over time, flags interventions that aren't working, and supports term-based reviews with progress snapshots. A strategy library provides a searchable bank of evidence-based approaches across multiple domains.

Daily Logging & Wellbeing Tools — Daily check-in tools capture mood, engagement, sleep quality, behaviours, and triggers—building a longitudinal picture of each child's patterns. This data feeds directly into the AI engine, enabling adaptive strategy recommendations that evolve as the child grows.

Inclusion Referral Workflow — For schools with inclusion teams, we built a structured referral pipeline with priority triage, review workflows, and strategy history tracking—streamlining the path from concern to coordinated action.

Technical Execution

The application is built on React with TypeScript, styled with Tailwind CSS using a comprehensive design token system that ensures visual consistency across every screen. The backend runs on a cloud infrastructure with PostgreSQL, row-level security policies for data protection, real-time subscriptions for live updates, and edge functions for serverless logic. We implemented internationalisation (English and Arabic), responsive design for mobile and desktop, keyboard shortcuts for power users, and a progressive web app configuration for offline-capable access.

The Result

Adaptify is a platform that proves inclusive support doesn't require a label. It puts practical tools in the hands of the people closest to children—their teachers and families—and uses AI to make personalised support scalable, immediate, and stigma-free. From screening to strategy to daily tracking, every feature was built with one goal: helping every child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
